Our Breeding Program

Currently, we exclusively own females in our program and carefully select outside studs that meet or surpass our health, temperament, and conformation criteria. Every male partner is evaluated to assure compatibility with our standards, preserving consistency, balance, and integrity in every breeding pairing.

All of our breeding dogs undergo comprehensive health screenings—based off of OFA required and recommended testing as well as DNA testing.

Genetic Health Screening

We utilize Embark's comprehensive DNA testing to screen our breeding dogs for over 270 genetic health conditions, including more than 20 breed-specific tests for Labrador Retrievers. If any of our dogs are identified as carriers of these genes, we ensure they are not bred with another carrier. This approach prevents the possibility of producing affected offspring, as two copies of a mutated gene—one from each parent—are typically required for the associated condition to manifest. All dogs have been evaluated and certified by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) for hips and elbows, receiving grades of Excellent, Good, or normal—indicating normal joint conformation and absence of dysplasia. Cardiac health has been assessed through OFA cardiac evaluations, with all dogs found to be free of congenital or adult-onset heart disease. Additionally, comprehensive ophthalmologic examinations have confirmed that all dogs are free from inherited eye disorders

Breeding Philosophy

Our breeding program prioritizes exceptional temperament, structural soundness, and adherence to breed standards. We aim to produce Labradors that are intelligent, easily trainable, and exhibit balanced energy levels—active when engaged and calm within the home environment. These qualities make them outstanding family companions.

Puppy Rearing Practices

All our puppies are raised within our home, receiving constant care and socialization. Ruby, our dam, whelps her puppies indoors. Around four weeks of age, the puppies transition to a bigger kennel, where they begin potty training and sleeping with out momma. We monitor them via cameras to ensure their well-being even when we're not present. At six weeks, we introduce crate training by feeding them in crates and gradually increasing their crate time. This method facilitates a smooth adjustment to crate use and reinforces their potty training routine. And of course the puppies are raised around our family and friends ensuring excellent socialization practices.
